Detroit City Homes Applying for Section 8 In Michigan Affordable Housing Application

Michigan Section 8 participants can choose any housing unit that meets housing quality standards set by HUD. You can also continue to stay in your present house if it meets HUD’s quality standards. Whether you choose an apartment or a single-family unit, it must have a living room, a kitchen, and a bathroom. Depending on the size of family, the sleeping/living space requirements will increase. You can view details of HUD’s housing quality standard here(http://www.hud.gov/offices/adm/hudclips/forms/files/593pih.pdf). A MSHDA representative will inspect your housing to see if it meets quality standards set by HUD. You can also use HUD’s broacher to find a good place to live (http://www.hud.gov/offices/adm/hudclips/forms/files/593pih.pdf). You can also use this map (http://www.michigan.gov/mshda/0,4641,7-141-5555_5626-299074--,00.html) to find a quality housing unit at low rent away from the concentrated areas.
To continue receiving Section 8 assistance, you should act like a responsible tenant. You should not delay rent and utility payments. You should follow all the rules that are set in the lease agreement with the landlord. Landlord will have the right to file for eviction if you don’t comply with HUD’s rules or rules agreed to in lease agreement.
MSHDA representative will re-inspect your housing unit every year to ensure that it still complies with HUD’s housing standards. You should allow such inspections once the notice has been served before the inspection. If you’re planning to move to some other place, you should notify MSHDA and your landlord 30 days before the terminating the agreement.
You can apply for other public or assisted housing programs along with Michigan Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher. Due to long waiting lists for housing programs in Michigan, applicants are encouraged to apply for as many waiting lists as many they qualify.

Section 8 application or applications for low income housing are always free at your local housing authority if they are accepting applications. Section8programs.com has no affiliation with HUD, the government or your local housing authority. Our mission is to help people that are of a low income to find an application form online for various government assistance programs nation wide. We provide low income grants and affordable housing opportunities in the form of listings in our Online Packet. In addition, we help our clients to apply for Section 8 housing via our Online Packet when applications are being accepted. We link our clients to various PHA online applications when applications are being accepted. Housing authorities do not necessarily network, meaning that if one is not accepting applications, others might be in your state. We provide links in the Online Packet to PHA's that are accepting housing applications. The real objective is to be on several different waiting lists at once. Keep in mind that it is typical for one to be on a waiting list for several years. We charge a small fee for our research which is consolidated in our Online Packet. We can not guarantee that your housing authority is accepting applications at this time, but we do update our Online Packet each week with this information.Section8programs.com also offers a privately funded grant program, the Section 8 Consolidation Program. This program awards small assistance grants for daily expenses, not housing vouchers. Grant periods open and close daily. Applicants for this grant program help determine who is most in need by voting for others at the end of the application process. This process allows our applicants to see who is being granted and why. All of our grantees receive a small assistance check in the mail about four or five days after they have been approved. These small stimulus checks range from fifty to two hundred dollars. Grantees are selected daily in the Guestbook and revealed each Monday. As the Online Packet never expires, applicants are encouraged to submit an application every 30 days. The final phase of the application process is the Guestbook, which provides all applicants with a social network type environment where they can converse with other applicants and see who is being approved.
Section 8 Housing application is for the Housing Choice Voucher program which is a government subsidized housing assistance program for a low income family or individual. The tenant will pay about 30% to 40% of their monthly income towards their rent. Section 8 will pay for (subsidize) the rest.
A Section 8 Landlord must have their property inspected by a division of their local PHA in order to rent to a Section 8 tenant and accept the Section 8 housing voucher. The landlord will prepare their own lease that will be no less than for one year. View Manta information about a Section 8 Landlord.
The Section 8 Consolidation Program combines low-income grants with subsidized housing resources for a low income family or individual. This information and application is provided to all applicants in our Section 8 and Subsidized Housing Online Packet. The Section 8 Consolidation Program is only found on Section8programs.com. It is a privately funded grant program and is not affiliated with the government, HUD or your local PHA. The grants awarded are small assistance grants intended to help with daily expenses like food or bills.
The Section 8 and Subsidized Housing Online Packet was designed to eliminate certain obstacles. Some of these obstacles include: non awareness of various subsidized housing programs and a shortage of landlords able or willing to accept Section 8 tenants.
By urging landlords nationwide to participate in government subsidized rental assistance
programs, and educating them about these programs, the gap between an independent Section 8 landlord and a tenant is being reduced. Anyone can become a Section 8 landlord.

The Section 8 Consolidation Program has combined low income and Section 8 housing opportunities and the allocation of low income grants to eligible applicants. The low income grants issued are intended to be used for household needs by a family or an individual, such as groceries or childcare. The Section 8 Consolidation Program is funded by a private entity and is not affiliated with any government agency. This program provides equal opportunity to all applicants to receive low income assistance and housing opportunities.
The housing opportunities are provided to all applicants in the form of listings in our Online Packet. Every applicant will have indefinite access to their packet for the purpose of learning about government programs they may also apply for. Rental listings for every U.S. state are also included. The Online Packet has information to educate landlords about various government housing programs and how to become involved in them, or to also locate a section 8 housing application and apply.
Applications for the Section 8 Consolidation Program and information about how to apply for other programs, such as the Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher Program can be found by clicking below.

    Application Process

Complete the Section 8 Consolidation Program application online at any time. Our grant periods open and close daily.

    Vote Process

Applicants can vote for other applicants in the final phase of the application process called the Guestbook. This provides a public record for applicants to see who is being declined and approved for these grants. The Guestbook also allows applicants to converse with each other. Although applicants with a valid application and numerous votes are well poised to receive a grant, it is the sole discretion of Section8programs.com as to who is actually granted.
    Selection Process

Grants will usually be awarded to the applicant with the most votes for that particular day. The applicant with the most votes must also have an application that is consistent with the information they have posted in the Guestbook. If the applicant with the most votes has submitted an application deemed to be false, the applicant with the second most votes will receive the grant and so on.

Results will be posted every Monday in the Guestbook
If declined, wait at least 30 days to reapply.
If granted, wait about four business days for your check to be mailed to you.

How do I check my application status?
Check the Guestbook 7 days after you have made your post and voted. The Guestbook is used to keep a public record of who has been granted.
    What is a grant?
A grant is a sum of money that you do not have to pay back.
    Is this for a voucher?
No. The Section 8 Consolidation Program only awards cash grants to people in need, not rental assistance vouchers. That Program is called the Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher Program and is administered only by housing authorities which are in no way affiliated with Section8programs.com. Find a low income housing application (otherwise known as Public Housing) in various areas when they are being accepted.
